Bethenny Frankel Shares Devastating Health Battle

Bethenny Frankel has taken to Instagram to talk about her ongoing health issues with her followers.

On February 23, Frankel revealed things are getting worse for her. And although she’s remained quiet about her health battle so far, the reality television star reveals she’s opening up now because of some of the comments she’s received on her appearance.

According to Frankel, she was diagnosed with an auto-immune disorder known as POTS “a while back.” According to the Cleveland Clinic, POTS stands for “Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome.”

POTS “is a condition that causes your heart to beat faster than normal when you transition from sitting or lying down to standing up. It’s a type of orthostatic intolerance.”

Alongside a video of her talking about the disorder, Frankel wrote, “there were some comments about my face looking different in recent videos, so here is why. I’m bloated, swollen, and I’ve gained 4 lbs in 3 days because my body is desperately hanging on to any water it can.”

“A while back, I shared what has been a serious battle with POTS. This is an auto-immune disorder that seems to have been drastically exacerbated since COVID. I know there are many of you out there, so thanks for all of the information. It’s certainly a condition to manage.”

Frankel continued by explaining some of the symptoms she experienced since being diagnosed. “I suffer from chronic severe dehydration. I have always experienced extremely low blood pressure and dehydration, but it’s gotten exponentially worse.”

She added in the video that she is “riddled with aches and pains” and that she is “messed up” and “not doing that great” as a result of how dehydrated she is. “It’s gotten really bad.”

“I make a tremendous effort to stay hydrated, get IVs, and I haven’t had liquor for 6 months. I’m basically on the case. Altitude and a dry climate (in my favorite place in the world to do my favorite sport) present additional challenges.”

Frankel ended her post by addressing those who have commented on her appearance. “When you comment on someone’s physical appearance, you may not know exactly what they’re enduring personally, physically, and emotionally.”
