Just a few days after Bindi Irwin shared a painting she was gifted showing her father at her wedding day, the 22-year-old is revealing she is pregnant with her first child. As Mamas Uncut previously reported, on March 25, Irwin and her now-husband, Chandler Powell, got married in an intimate ceremony at the wildlife conservation center her late father created, the Australian Zoo.
And although it wasn’t the big celebration they had originally intended it to be due to COVID-19, Irwin revealed that despite not having any guests at their wedding, the day was still filled with “tears and smiles and love.” And her father, Steve Irwin‘s memory, remained a big part of their day.
Bindi Irwin Makes Huge Announcement Just 5 Months After Marrying Chandler Powell
“Mum helped me get ready, Robert walked me down the aisle, Chandler became my husband and together we lit a candle in Dad’s memory,” Irwin revealed.
And as the weeks went on and Bindi and Chandler relished in their first days as newlyweds, she continued to share photos from their wedding day. One of the photos consisted of Bindi in her wedding dress, Chandler, who was holding their beloved dog, Piggy, her brother, Robert, and her mom, Terri.
Bindi later revealed that that particular picture had been turned into a painting with one very special addition added to it. The artist, The Monkey Brush, also painted her beloved father into the picture as well.
How stunning is that? And now it is being revealed that the newlyweds didn’t waste any time getting started on their family. “Baby Wildlife Warrior due 2021,” Bindi wrote on Instagram.
“Chandler and I are proud to announce that we’re expecting! It’s an honor to share this special moment in our lives with you. Though I’m still in my first trimester, we really want you to be part of our journey from the beginning of this new life chapter,” the mom-to-be continued.
“We couldn’t wait to share the news as this beautiful little being has become the most important part of our lives. Your support means the world to us. Please let me know your best advice and send good vibes and prayers to our little sweetheart. Love and light.”
After telling his bride that she is going to be “the best mother,” Chandler wrote that he couldn’t be more excited. “Becoming a dad is the highlight of my life. I cannot wait to embark on this new adventure and life chapter with my gorgeous wife. Bee, you’re going to be the most amazing mother.”
“The most exciting news ever,” Robert added. “I am so happy for Bindi and Chandler to be welcoming a new member of the family. I can’t believe I’m going to be an uncle!!! It’s such a happy time for our family. I look forward to this brilliant new chapter and all the fun adventures ahead with a new little Wildlife Warrior!”
And while the gender of their little one has yet to be revealed, Terri also shared how thrilled she knows Steve would have been to become a grandpa.
“This is the best day ever! I am over the moon to announce that Bindi and Chandler are going to have a baby! Words cannot express the love that is filling my heart. While I wish that Steve was here to share this beautiful moment, I know that he would be so proud.”
