‘Bluey’s Longest Episode Just Aired and Parents Have Big Feelings About It

(Warning: This article contains ‘Bluey’ Spoilers.)

The newest episode of the hit kids show Bluey called The Sign is being touted as one of its biggest episodes.

According to reports, The Sign has been set up as Bluey’s final episode. It was their longest episode as well, a full 28 minutes.

Today that episode aired on Disney Plus about 10 hours ago. And the reviews are in.

But did it live up to the hype?

BBC called the episode “transcendental viewing,” while the Guardian called it “paradigm-shattering.”

On Bluey’s official Instagram page, their comments section was flooded with responses from the episode. Parents admitting like many Bluey episodes, this one made them feel the gamut of emotions.

“My wife just woke me up so we could watch it,” country singer Sean Williams wrote in the comments section. “Stripe crawling out of Wendy’s bushes ‘Ah what day is it’ had me rollin.”

“I cried so much,” one mom wrote. “Hit me real hard. After a second viewing my 7-year-old cried too – he doesn’t want to ever move from our place. Top episode, guys!”

Another mom added that she gave herself a pre-viewing of it before showing it to her kids. “It’s midnight where I am (California) and I watched it alone so that I could cry in peace.” And so many other parents admitted they did the same thing.

“Oh my gosh. The feels. The ‘thinking’ reference at the lookout. The ‘announcement’ bit. BRANDY. The Policeman being a GS. The ending. It was all so spectacularly done. You outdid yourselves with this one. Also, yes, I watched it at 3:30am without my Bluey and Bingo.”

“There are a minimum of 6 Bluey episodes that make me cry so I was expecting the same for this one. What I didn’t expect was that I would be crying and my husband next to me would also have tears rolling down his cheeks,” a mom wrote. “Bravo.”

As someone with many mom friends, I had to ask their thoughts on the episode as well. While not many of them were aware of the hype around this particular episode, the hype was alive and well in their households.

“I thought it was good. It was a good way to end it,” Bailey told me. “Joe [my husband] teared up,” she added with a laugh.

I asked her if she truly got the feeling that this was the end of Bluey as the parenting world knows it. “I took it as they may be taking a break for a little while, because they didn’t up moving or selling the house,” Bailey added.

“If they would have ended up actually leaving then I would have thought it was done.”
