Dad Kills Mom Who Was Planning to Donate Kidney to Their Son with a Genetic Disease

A boy is left searching for a new kidney after the woman who requested to be his donor, his mom, was killed by her husband.

On October 3, a GoFundMe was created to help bring awareness to a young teenager who was in need of a new kidney.

As the campaign reports, “Kincaid, now 13 years old, was born with a genetic, chronic kidney disease called Polycystic Kidney Disease. To look at him you would not even realize he is sick. Kincaid plays the saxophone and is on the swim team, but he is functioning on 19-percent of his kidneys.”

“Being born with this we knew that a transplant was in his future, we just didn’t know when. Fortunately, medication [throughout] his life has kept him stable. We hoped it would be several more years.”

However, now that the “time has come” for Kincaid to undergo a transplant, he has been put on the transplant list. Nonetheless, those who are advocating for him are hoping to find someone who is both a match and is willing to donate their kidney to Kincaid in order to speed up the process.

The GoFundMe campaign also made mention of Kincaid’s mother, Audra. According to reports, Kincaid isn’t her only son who was born with Polycystic Kidney Disease; so were her two older boys. Sadly, her first son only lived for four days, while her second son lived for four weeks.

Years after losing her two boys, Audra adopted a daughter from China named Olivia. It was years after that that Audra became pregnant with Kincaid. “Even though he was in and out of the hospital earlier on he got to grow and thrive with the continued help of a great medical team. Audra’s family was complete.”

Early in Kincaid’s life, Audra got tested to see if she would be a match for her son should he need a transplant, and she was. Sadly, Audra’s life was taken away from her before she was able to donate her kidney to her son by her husband.

According to the Patch.com, Audra was shot by Darrell five times as she drove them home from a Christmas party on December 27, 2016. “Two days later Kincaid makes reference to along with losing his mother, he also lost the kidney that was intended for him.”

He was found guilty of her murder and sentenced to life in prison. Kincaid and Olivia now live with their grandparents in Tennessee.

Brandy Love, Audra’s best friend, wrote on the GoFundMe page, “I guess my plea to you is to consider getting tested for organ donation for Kincaid. Just consider it. […] The waiting list is very long for a deceased donor. The success rate for a live donor is so much better and faster.”

Love said she created the GoFundMe in order to do something good for Audra’s family in her honor.

Love also said Olivia has become protective over her little brother, but now fears she might lose him too. So far, the GoFundMe page has raised 17,100 for Kincaid and his family.
