Following Jamie Spears’ most recent court filing, Britney Spears’ attorney has filed more accusations against the pop star’s father. As Mamas Uncut previously reported, court documents filed by Jamie and his team revealed that Jamie believes he should get more credit as Britney’s conservator.
Jamie Spears alleged that his 39-year-old daughter has been struggling with both addiction and mental health issues for years. He also stated that the public “would praise Mr. Spears for the job he has done” if they only knew the half of it.

“There is no doubt that the Conservatorship saved Ms. Spears from disaster, supported her when she needed it the most, protected her and her reputation from harm, and facilitated the restoration of her career,” Jamie continued. “If the public knew all the facts of Ms. Spears’ personal life, not only her highs but also her lows, all of the addiction and mental health issues that she has struggled with, and all of the challenges of the Conservatorship, they would praise Mr. Spears for the job he has done, not vilify him.”
Jamie also placed blame on others who were in charge of Britney’s conservatorship, especially when it came to Britney’s claims that she was forcefully put on Lithium and was stopped from removing the IUD she has in place so that she could expand her family with her longtime boyfriend, Sam Asghari.
Now, Britney’s handpicked lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, has filed allegations against Jamie Spears, claiming that he attempted to extort $2 million from his daughter’s conservatorship. According to Rosengart, Jamie’s response to Britney’s request to remove him as her conservator amounted to “quid pro quo.”
In the documents filed by Jamie’s legal team, Jamie said that while he contests the idea that he should step down as Britney’s conservator, he will do so when the timing is right. Now, according to BuzzFeed, one of the issues Jamie wants to be resolved before stepping down is “the pending Twelfth Account and a final account.”
According to Rosengart, those accounts include “payments to Jamie Spears for legal work addressing ‘public, media, and social media attention’ and for ‘continu[ing] to do my best to keep current regarding the music, advertising, and entertainment business.’” According to Buzzfeed, that comes to a total amount of $1,356,293 in attorneys’ fees for his counsel, and additionally, as well as a $500,000 payment to Tri-Star Sports & Entertainment Group.
In his most recent filing, Rosengart is responding to Jamie Spears’ demands.
“Regardless of the past, Mr. Spears and his counsel are now on notice: the status quo is no longer tolerable, and Britney Spears will not be extorted. Mr. Spears’s blatant attempt to barter suspension and removal in exchange for approximately $2 million in payments, on top of the millions already reaped from Ms. Spears’s estate by Mr. Spears and his associates, is a non-starter.”
But who will be Jamie Spears’ replacement?
As Radar reported last week, the man Rosengart and Britney had chosen for Jamie’s replacement has reportedly withdrawn from consideration. It’s unclear if Britney’s legal team has found a replacement.
