We think you deserve a little happiness in your eyeballs today. With all that’s going on, it’s nice to remember that there is inarguable goodness in the world. On March 21, star of the hit TV show Grey’s Anatomy, Caterina Scorsone shared a video of herself and her daughter to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day.
The very special video features the actor with her 3-year-old daughter, Paloma ‘Pippa’ Michaela, reciting each letter of the alphabet as mom Caterina signs. Pippa was born with Down syndrome in 2016 and it’s clear that she’s been busy learning her ABCs.
After completing the alphabet, Caterina praises her daughter saying, “Yay! Pippa is smart!”
Caterina sings “smart” and Pippa agrees signing “smart” as well.
The video concludes with Caterina affirming her assessment saying, “That’s right!”
The sweet video was shared with the caption, “Happy World Down syndrome awareness day, everybody!! Sending love and alphabets from our family to yours!!”
World Down Syndrome day is celebrated every year on March 21st to raise public awareness about the syndrome that is characterized by an extra 21st chromosome. Caterina shared an image on Instagram last year as well to celebrate.
This is not the first time Caterina and Pippa have celebrated World Down Syndrome Day.
The image Caterina shared of Pippa last year, included the message, “Happy World Down syndrome Day from our family to yours!!! The sun shines on all our chromosomes!!!”
Is this not the best thing you’ve seen all day? Caterina has three daughters in total. Pippa’s sisters are 7-year-old Eliza and 2-month-old Arwen. Caterina has been married to musician Rob Giles since 2009.
Caterina Scorsone has a gorgeous family! What a beautiful way to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day and spread awareness. Please share this with anyone who needs a dose of cuteness today.
