Congratulations are very much in order! Actor Chris Pratt and his wife, author Katherine Schwarzenegger, are expecting their first child.
Multiple sources confirmed the exciting news to People Magazine and E! News, saying, “They are completely thrilled to be starting a family. Family is everything to them and it’s a very exciting time.”

“The baby is due early fall. Katherine shared the news with her family very early on,” a source added when speaking with E! News.
Though this will be the couple’s first child together, Pratt has a son, 7-year-old Jack, from his previous marriage to actor Anna Faris.
Pratt and Schwarzenegger married just 10 months ago — in June of 2019 — in an intimate ceremony in Montecito, CA. At the time, Pratt wrote on Instagram, “Yesterday was the best day of our lives! We became husband and wife in front of God, our families and those we love. It was intimate, moving and emotional. We feel so blessed to begin this new chapter of our lives.”
The next chapter of their lives seems to be starting now, with the news they are expecting their first child.
According to sources who spoke with E! News, the couple is “completely thrilled” to be expecting. Though Schwarzenegger “hasn’t done a lot to prepare yet” because she doesn’t want to “jinx” anything, she did tell her mother, Maria Shriver, early on.
“[Maria] adores Chris and she knows Katherine will be a natural mom,” the source told E! However, the source adds that Pratt and Schwarzenegger have not yet revealed the sex of their baby.
Both Pratt and Schwarzenegger have been candid about wanting to start a family, with a source telling People shortly after their wedding that “they can’t wait to expand their family as soon as possible.”
And while Schwarzenegger has been a great stepmom to Pratt’s son Jack, both are ready to have a child of their own.
“She always dotes on her friends’ kids and, of course, her stepson Jack,” a source told E!. “She is gentle, loving and caring. She has such motherly instincts and loves to take care of everyone already.”
And now it sounds like she’ll be able to apply those motherly instincts to her baby-to-be. Congratulations to the happy couple!
