One day after Chrissy Teigen revealed that her and John Legend‘s unborn child had passed away, Teigen’s mother Pepper Thai took to Instagram to share a few videos and photos of the moment she has an opportunity to say goodbye to her grandson. As many of Teigen and Legend’s fans know, Pepper lives with them and their two oldest children, Luna and Miles.
And it is evident, thanks to her social media, just how much Pepper adores being a grandmother. As Mamas Uncut previously reported, Teigen and Legend were surprised to learn they had gotten pregnant this year.
Teigen had been open in the past regarding her fertility issues and using various fertility treatments in order to get pregnant with her first two children. However, this time, the cookbook author revealed that she and Legend were able to conceive their third child naturally although they weren’t actively trying to grow their family.
The couple shared the exciting news via the music video for his song Wild. Legend called their unborn son a “quarantine surprise.”
Sadly, roughly halfway through the pregnancy, Teigen began to bleed and although it appeared as though their son was growing stronger and stronger every day, her placenta was deemed weak. After being put on bed rest, she was admitted into the hospital as the bleeding became more severe.
Following several blood transfusions, Teigen shared the heartbreaking news that the baby boy they named Jack had passed away.
Chrissy Teigen’s Mom Shares Moment She Said Goodbye to Grandson
Now Pepper has shared a video and two photos from the moment she said goodbye to baby Jack. “My heart aches love you so much baby Jack.”
“Thank you so much for sharing such personal moments. Please know that an overwhelming amount of people are very grateful to you, Chrissy, and John for helping to normalize something that so many families go through,” one commenter wrote under Pepper’s heartbreaking and vulnerable post. “I am so sorry to all of you for the sad people who have so much hate in their hearts that they use something like this to try to make you all feel as horrible as they do… but know that there is more than enough love being sent to you from around the world.”
Legend has not publicly released a statement following the heartbreak his family has just endured. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with them during this tragic and difficult time.
