On October 22, Christina Perri gave birth to a miracle – a double rainbow baby. She shared the news with her fans in an Instagram post on Sunday, revealing her new daughter’s name as Pixie Rose Costabile. It has been a long time coming and we couldn’t be happier for the couple.
Perri announced her engagement to Paul Costabile, an entertainment reporter and host, in 2017 and the couple wed later that year. They welcomed their first daughter in January 2018 and were prepared to have a second child in 2020, but suffered a miscarriage at 11 weeks.
The couple tried again later that year and announced they were pregnant in July. Unfortunately, Perri started to experience complications and later announced her daughter was stillborn. Roughly 16 months later, they announced they were pregnant a fourth time – this time it worked!

When a mother gives birth to a healthy baby after experiencing a pregnancy loss, the healthy baby is referred to as a ‘rainbow baby.’ If the mother suffers back-to-back pregnancy losses, then the healthy baby is referred to as a ‘double rainbow baby’ – which is what Pixie Rose is.
The black and white photo shared by Christina Perri says it all – the joy radiating from her face as she lays eyes on her ‘magical’ baby girl. “with a whole lot of faith, trust, and pixie dust she has arrived safely. please welcome our magical double rainbow baby girl,” she captioned the photo.
Christina Perri rose to fame after her single Jar of Hearts was featured on an episode of So You Think You Can Dance. She has since released five albums – including Lovestrong (2011) and Head or Heart (2014). She most recently released a new album titled A Lighter Shade of Blue.
The singer and songwriter has won several awards in her career – one for Jar of Hearts, two for A Thousand Years, and one for Herself. She has headlined two concert tours and has opened for several popular artists, including Demi Lovato, OneRepublic, Ed Sheeran, and Billy Joel.

After four pregnancies, Christina Perri and Paul Costabile can finally say they’re parents of two – a journey that took a lot of faith and commitment from two highly-deserving people. They first gave birth to a daughter, Carmella, on January 17, 2018 – a daughter who is now four years old.
Carmella was featured in an Instagram video on May 23rd – the same video where Perri announced she was pregnant with Pixie Rose. One month later, Perri released her newest album, and spirits were high in the Perri-Costabile household. Now, spirits are even higher.
“After every doctors appointment there was joy & relief. with each kick and wiggle there was joy. This darling baby girl inside me has already changed our lives for the better. she has taken our broken hearts, lifted us up, and made us fly,” said Perri on Instagram before giving birth to Pixie.
