While hanging Christmas lights with his family, a Texas father fell off the roof of a home and passed away.
According to WFAA, Felipe Gallegos hung Christmas lights and washed windows professionally. As his wife, Alisha Flick explained, around 6:30 p.m. on December 7, they were decorating their third house of the day.

Flick and their 17-year-old son were at the front of the house decorating while Felipe was around back. That’s when Flick and their son “heard something” and went running towards him. Flick explained to WFAA:
“I got out and I went over there, and he was laying on the concrete. He was saying ‘Help me, help me,’ and so I called 911.” Felipe somehow fell off the roof of the home they were decorating. Within minutes, an ambulance arrived to rush Felipe to a local hospital.
According to Alisha, her husband had suffered a skull fracture and a chest fracture. “He had a skull fracture and bleeding in the brain and then he had a chest fracture. And they had to drain blood from his chest. And they rushed him into emergency surgery, but he didn’t make it.”
Alisha went on to say about her husband, whom she met 22 years ago, “He was just an all-around great person. He always had a smile on his face, and he was always goofy and he was always making everybody laugh.”

Their decorating and window-washing business was the main source of income for their family, Alisha told WFAA. However, while she works to get back on her feet following this horrific tragedy, neighbors and family have started a GoFundMe account to raise money for Alisha and their son, which she has been very grateful for.
“I really didn’t realize how much support I even had. And he always told me if something ever happened to him that we would be OK, and I didn’t believe him. But now I realize that everything’s going to be all right.”
Felipe will be laid to rest on December 12.
