Those were the only five words South Carolina head coach Dawn Staley could get out after winning her third National Championship against the Iowa Hawkeyes.
With tears in her eyes, Staley, who rarely lets her emotions show in public, was surrounded by her players who just finished the 2023-2024 season undefeated. “God is funny like that, he rips your heart out and makes you believe the unimaginable.”

After coming back from behind in the first quarter, the Gamecocks ending the first half of the game on top and never let go of the lead. Staley and her team ended up winning the 87 to 75.
