Is “Shape of You” singer Ed Sheeran about to become a father? Word on the street says yes!
According to a report by the UK Sun and picked up by New York Post, Sheeran, 29, and his wife, Cherry Seaborn, 28, are expecting their first child. The report claims that Seaborn has been pregnant for some time and that the baby is due “later this summer.” So like… any day now!

A new report suggests Ed Sheeran and his wife, Cherry Seaborn, are expecting their first child “later this summer.”
While neither Sheeran nor Seaborn has confirmed this news themselves, it is potentially of note that Sheeran has not posted to his official Instagram (or other social media) account(s) since December of 2019. At the time, he wrote that he wanted to take “another break again.”
“I’ve been a bit non stop since 2017,” he continued in his December post, “so I’m just gonna take another breather to travel, write and read. I’ll be off all social media until it’s time to come back.” He added later in his note that he promises “to be back with some new music when the time is right and I’ve lived a little more to actually have something to write about.”
Something to write about? Like becoming a father perhaps????
The UK Sun‘s source says that since announcing his breather, Sheeran has been mostly lying low at his Suffolk home with Seaborn, where the two have allegedly spent most of the lockdown.
“Ed and Cherry are over the moon,” the source claims. “They’re very excited, but have kept things very low key.”
“Lockdown was a perfect excuse not to be seen out and about too much, but things are getting closer and the excitement has been building so they have started telling friends and family,” the source also adds.
After announcing his break from social media, Sheeran’s manager Stuart Camp may have hinted at Sheeran’s desire to become a father soon.
“He won’t sit still for long,” Camp said, according to the Sun. “He’s not the holiday sort. But things may change, he could have a young family relatively soon.”
And it seems that, indeed, Sheeran may have a young family very, very soon.
Sheeran and Seaborn married in 2018 at his Suffolk estate. Sources say the ceremony was very low-key and that celebrity guests were not invited.
While we wait to hear confirmation on this big pregnancy news, we will with both Sheeran and Seaborn nothing but health and happiness! And if they are, in fact, expecting, we can’t wait to learn more about their growing family.
