Famed Rapper Accused of Killing His Girlfriend In Front of Her 3 Children Before Turning Gun on Himself

A famed rapper, known as J Stash, was discovered dead on New Year’s Day of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Additionally, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s office also discovered the body of 27-year-old Jeanette Gallegos.

According to KTLA 5, investigators believe Stash, 28, killed Gallegos before turning the gun on himself. Police discovered the gruesome scene while responding to a domestic violence call.

Sadly, investigators believe that the reported couple’s children were also inside of the home during the alleged murder-suicide. “Right now, the evidence at the scene and the preliminary information we have from the children in the home is that it’s a murder-suicide,” Lt. Derrick Alfred told KTLA 5.

Further reporting by People reveals the rapper and Gallegos engaged in an argument before leading her to their master bedroom and locking the door. Police discovered their bodies in that room.

“The female victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds, while the male victim sustained an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound,” deputies told People. The Associated Press said that one of the children called their grandmother to explain what was happening.

The grandmother reportedly told the child to call 911. It is unclear if the call from the child to the grandmother occurred before or after their mother was killed.

After responding to the call, responding officers were able to remove the three children from the home safely. According to reports, the children were unharmed and ranged in ages 5 to 11 years old.

J Stash, born Justin Joseph, is originally from Florida and rose to fame after stepping into the rap scene. Gallegos and the rapper were reportedly dating for about a year.

Gallegos’ sister, Erika Chavez, created a GoFundMe account to raise money for the funeral expenses. “With a heavy heart, my sister passed away Jan 1, 2022,” Chaves said.

“A tragic and unexpected loss for my family and nephews, God has gained another angel. My sister was full of life, she was the sweetest most caring person, always there for everyone who needed her. Her favorite quote [was] ‘live today because tomorrow is not promised.’ My sister leaves behind 3 beautiful boys who will have to continue living life with what’s left, the memories created with their mommy. Anything helps even just sharing this post. The donations will be used for my sister’s funeral expenses.”

Our thoughts are with Gallegos’ three children and those affected by this tragedy.
