Food Network star Darnell Ferguson, better known as “SuperChef,” has been arrested.
According to multiple reports, Ferguson was arrested on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. He was held at Louisville Metropolitan in Kentucky.
WHAS 11 reveals Ferguson was arrested on several major charges including “strangulation, burglary, terroristic threatening, assault, menacing, criminal mischief, and theft-receipt of a stolen credit or debit card.”
Kentucky inmate records suggest that he has since been released.
According to WHAS 11, the arrest occurred after Ferguson allegedly “illegally entered” a woman’s house before reportedly yelling at her and punching the walls of her home.
Ferguson then focused his aggression on the woman, grabbing her by the neck, strangling her, and threatening to kill her. The woman told authorities that she couldn’t breathe and passed out.
While she lay on the floor, the woman told police that Ferguson ripped her shorts off and told her she was his and no one else. Before leaving the home, Ferguson took her credit card and identification.
An emergency protection order has been granted. Ferguson has pleaded not guilty.
This is a developing report.
Ferguson first grew to Food Network fame when he started hosting Superchef Grudge Match and Worst Cooks in America. He’s also notably judged cooking shows like Chopped and Guy’s Grocery Games.
