With Halloween just around the corner, parents are sure to be preparing (or scrambling) to make sure their children have top-notch costumes that they can “wow” their friends with. And who better to get inspiration from than celebrity parents and their families.
Halloween is a time to let a person’s creativity run wild. So here is some spooky inspiration from 17 celebrities and their families.
Neil Patrick Harris, his husband David Burtka, and their two children are Halloween legends. Just look at how they rocked their horrifying tribute to circuses everywhere in 2017.
Also in 2017, Jessica Simpson, her husband Eric Johnson, and their two children channeled two country music legends (Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings), a cowboy, and Belle from Beauty and the Beast.
Lauren Conrad and her young son were inspired by the popular novel known as Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children in 2018. Conrad honed her peculiars to turn her son Liam into an adorable blackbird.
For some of the Kardashian kids, Roblox is a treat, but the tricks come when they fall down and no one is around.
In 2018, Singer Ciara, her husband Russell Wilson and their two children screamed “Wakanda forever” as they took on the award-winning film Black Panther.
Just several months before the arrival of her second daughter, Hoda Kotb, her boyfriend Joel Schiffman, their daughter Haley, and Kotb’s mom buzzed around the streets of New York as a family of bees.
And like the Burtka-Harris family, singer Pink and her family also channeled their inner circus for Halloween 2018. However, they pulled inspiration from the hit movie The Greatest Showman.
Mom of three Beyoncé may not have shared her children’s Halloween costumes last year, but she and husband Jay-Z channeled their athletic sides when dressing up as legendary athletes, sprinters Florence Griffin ‘Flo-Jo’ Joyner and Tommie Smith.
The Real co-host, Tamera Mowry-Housley, and her little girl were twinning in 2018 when they both dressed up as ladybugs. But her husband and son listened to the beat of their own drums, dressing up as a caveman and Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon, respectively.
Reese Witherspoon and her family love Halloween, just look at how spooktacular their costumes were last year.
As Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady point out, families don’t always have to be on theme for Halloween. I mean, who wouldn’t want a little bit of unicorn magic and a few “Fortnite” survival weapons when running into Pennywise.
Selma Blair loves spending time with her only son Arthur so when she had to work over the holiday last year, she revealed that her “son trick or treats inside our house. And the tricks really set the tone for a night we will never forget.”
As country singer, Jessie James Decker‘s little girl points out, Halloween isn’t always happy, but she looks very cute dressed as Ariel from Disney’s The Little Mermaid.
Jenna Bush Hager‘s two “queens” channeled their inner sweet tooth for Halloween last year, but as the mom of three revealed, “too much candy does the opposite of turning you into a princess.”
As Jennifer Lopez points out, her kids really “milked” Halloween last year, but the udderless cow seems to be a cruel trick by the Joker.
Singer, actress, and Podcast host Jana Kramer and her family did stay on theme last year, and let’s just say they looked mighty cute doing it.
What are your plans for Halloween this year?
