Heather Rae and Tarek El Moussa Share First Photo of Their Baby Boy and His Scary Birth Story

Roughly two weeks after welcoming their baby boy into the world, Tarek El Moussa and Heather Rae El Moussa are opening up a little more.

Tarek and Heather welcomed their first child together on January 31. This is Heather’s first biological child and Tarek’s third. Tarek shares two children with his ex-wife, Christina Hall.

In a post alongside the first public photos of their baby boy, Heather and Tarek wrote, “We’d like to introduce Tristan Jay El Moussa to the world.” The couple revealed that Tristan was born at  6:55 a.m. on 1-31-23 and weighed 7lbs, 7oz at birth.

The proud parents went on to reveal the significance of their baby boy’s name, explaining that “Tristan was the name that Tarek was supposed to have, Jay is my dad’s middle name & 4 generations of Jay.”

Heather then added that Tristan’s birth story began with a few scares before he made his grand entrance into the world. “We were at my final doctor appointment, and our Dr. rushed us to the hospital to get monitored because Tristan‘s movements had slowed down. I was 4 days past his due date,” Heather explained.

“I had scar tissue built up from a biopsy I had years ago, which affected my cervix softening & water breaking. Once at the hospital I was given 1/2 a pill of Cytotec to soften cervix, balloon went in. 2 hours later I was dilated to a 4. Balloon fell out, then 3 hours later dialated to a 6, then a few minutes an 8 then 15 minutes later my water broke! It was time to push!! it all happened really fast. Tristan’s heart rate was dropping very low every time I’d push & was staying low. Which was terrifying.”

As Heather continued, it was a race against time to get remove Tristan from her womb. “My doctor told me that we had to get him out right away,” she continued. “I had 4 more pushes and to give it my all & she was going to use a vacuum to help get him out fast, or otherwise we would have to do an emergency C-section.”

“Tarek was on my right holding my hand talking me through everything. I pushed so hard all the blood vessels broke in my face and chest. Tarek yelled I see his head, push push push. Our baby boy came out healthy and beautiful, I was in a state of shock it was a surreal experience. I was emotional and drained & so in love already. It was scary, but beautiful & I had the best support from Tarek, my incredible @drlisakaramardian and all the nurses at Hoag.”

Heather concluded their statement, saying, “We have been in our own private bubble, but today we are so happy to share Tristan and some of our birth story with the world.”

As Mamas Uncut previously reported, after getting married in 2021, Tarek and Heather Rae El Moussa announced that they were expecting their first child together in July 2022. “Surprise!!! Baby El Moussa coming early 2023,” Tarek wrote on his post alongside several photos of his loving on Heather’s burgeoning baby bump while at the beach.

In an exclusive interview with People, the couple revealed that while they couldn’t have been more excited to welcome a little one into the world, it was something they weren’t expecting.

“It was a huge shock,” Heather told People. “We just weren’t expecting this. We had just gone through IVF. We had embryos on ice. We had a plan.”

Nonetheless, while a pregnancy this soon wasn’t part of the plan; the couple couldn’t be more thrilled than to have their baby boy in their lives now. And we couldn’t be happier for them as they embark on this beautiful journey of parenthood.
