Hilaria Baldwin described a recent health scare with her 8-month-old son Eduardo “Edu” Pao Lucas as “horrible” in a recent Instagram post.
As any parent knows, an unexpected health scare in that first year of life can really “shake” you. This was the case for Hilaria who shared a harrowing experience of getting treatment for her son who had a bad allergic reaction.
Hilaria Baldwin Said She Had a ‘Scary Experience’ with Her Son Edu After He Had an Allergic Reaction.
“We had a scary experience where Edu had an allergic reaction. I don’t know to what yet, but it was one of those horrible moments a parent dreads,” Hilaria Baldwin wrote on Instagram.
“My kids don’t have allergies, so this was a first. Doesn’t matter how many kids you have, there are always moments that shake us, as there is no way we can prepare.”
The message was shared alongside a photo of her holding her son and wearing a blue surgical mask.
“This was after he was better, the vomit on my clothes had dried, and my friend sent a pic to Alec (who is away working) to let him know it was going to be ok,” Hilaria wrote of husband, Alec Baldwin. “I’m grateful to you, doctors and nurses and other healthcare professionals. I won’t mention your names here, but you know who you are, and I hope how much my heart is connected to your care and kindness.”
“Expediency in this situation is key,” Hilaria said she learned.
“Don’t wait to see if it gets better. If you find yourself in this situation—just go and reach for help,” she advised. “I love you my baby boy????mama loves you so.”
Thankfully, by Sunday Edu was feeling much “better” and Hilaria shared an update with her fans about his allergy drama.
“Thank you for the sweet wishes and wisdom from your own experiences you have shared with me,” she added with a video of her son smiling alongside his sister María Lucía Victoria.
Hilaria Baldwin has six children with her husband, including daughter Lucía, whom she recently welcomed via surrogate, and Carmen Gabriela, 7, as well as sons Edu, Romeo Alejandro David, 2, Leonardo Ángel Charles, 4, and Rafael Thomas, 5.
Last month, she opened up about the experience of having rainbow babies following a miscarriage.
“My heart has gotten to grow so much to love all of you so,” she wrote at the time on Instagram along with a video of her daughter smiling away, as well as Edu, laying next to her. Hilaria then called her two youngest children her “rainbow babies,” before opening up about the daughter she miscarried prior to Edu’s birth in another slide.
“There is not a day that goes by where I do not miss their older sister, who we lost at 16 weeks. There is also not a day that goes by where I don’t thank my lucky stars that I have Eduardo Pau and Maria Lucia,” she added.
“The fact that both of those feelings can exist inside of me, simultaneously and so intensely in their polarity, blows my mind. Life has so many more layers and nuances than I could have ever dreamed.”
We are so pleased for Hilaria that Edu is doing much better and that she is really loving being a mother to her rainbow babies, dried vomit and all.
