Hilary Duff feels strongly about her family living a sustainable life, and it turns out her son Luca is becoming a passionate environmentalist.

The Younger actress sat down with Parents magazine for their “Mother Earth Issue” to talk about teaching her two kids to live a green life.

The mama shares her and husband Matthew Koma’s tips for being environmentally-friendly in their household, including using glass containers instead of single-use plastic.

“At first, washing and prepping one more thing seems impossible, but it only takes a little extra time, and makes a difference.”

“Plastic products are all throughout your house, including bath products. When you’re done with those, make sure to bring them downstairs and put it in the right bin. That was a big change for us in our household.”

She goes on to share that making small changes has empowered her entire family.

“At first, saving the environment sounds scary and overwhelming, but as we implement new rules, it becomes easier and easier.”

The Lizzie McGuire star is sure to check the labels of products that she purchases and encourages others to do the same.

“More people need to turn the label around and ensure that they’re buying products that are caring about our environment and making the necessary changes they need to do,” she said.

Way to set a great example for your little ones, mama!
