In June, rapper Iggy Azalea revealed she became a mom for the first time. However, she also admitted that while her son is far from a secret, she hoped that she could keep his life private.
In a statement following tons of rumors about her suspected pregnancy, Azalea wrote that she loves the baby boy she named Onyx “beyond words.”

“I have a son. I kept waiting for the right time to say something but it feels like the more time passes the more I realize I’m always going to feel anxious to share news that giant with the world. I want to keep his life private but wanted to make it clear he is not a secret. And I love him beyond words.”
According to CNN, the new mom had been dating fellow rapper Playboi Carti since 2018. And following her latest update, she confirmed that that is who Onyx’s father is.
Sadly, however, Azalea and Carti are no longer together, as she revealed she will be raising her baby boy on her own. She then offered her fans another surprise, by sharing a photo of Onyx on Instagram.
In a series of Instagram stories, Azalea revealed that she and Carti had decided to split. “You Lost a Real 1,” the rapper posted before adding, “People take loyalty for granted [and] that’s why I’d rather be alone.”
The following day, Azalea clarified her statements by saying, “What I meant last night was that I’m raising my son alone, and I’m not in a relationship.” However, people would take that to mean that Carti would no longer be a part of Onyx’s life.
But that is not the case, the mom of one explained. “Nothing I said was intended to make it seem like my son’s father isn’t part of his life but I’ve noticed a lot of people took it that way, so I wanted to clear the air. Onyx is so so loved by his dad and has always had both parents in his life from day 1.”

According to E! News, Azalea and Carti were engaged and lived together at the time of their split. The reason for the end of their relationship is unclear.
