The iconic Iris Apfel has passed away.
In an Instagram post post shared to her official account, the fashion icon’s team confirmed the heartbreaking news. She was 102 years old.
Iris first became the fashion icon she is today back in the 80s. She was known for eclectic style, bright colors, and beautiful personality.
She would affectionately refer to herself as the “geriatric starlet.” Her last post on Instagram was a celebration of her “half birthday” just one day ago, which happens to land on leap years only.
“In half birthdays, I’m only 26!!! I’m 102 and a half today… happy leap day!
