Jackson Mahomes Learns His Fate After Being Charged With Battery

Following his arrest in May 2023, Jackson Mahomes has learned his fate.

As Mamas Uncut previously reported, Mahomes, brother of NFL star Patrick Mahomes, was arrested and charged with felony sexual battery. The charges came after Jackson was caught on security cameras grabbing an owner of a bar by the neck and forcibly kissing her.

Before pleading no contest to one of the four charges against him, the other three were dropped.

Now, Jackson has been sentenced to six months probation for misdemeanor simple battery. Jackson shared a statement after receiving his sentenced through his attorney Brandan Davies.

“Jackson is thankful for the support of his family and friends during the last year. Jackson pled no contest to a single count of simple battery and he was given six months of unsupervised probation.”

“Jackson simply wanted the case to be over with and to move on with his life,” the statement continued. “The matter is now closed and we will not be issuing any further statements.”

The bar owner, Aspen Vaughn, told The Kansas City Star that the bar had to be shut down following the incident “partly” because of the “negative publicity” that came as a result of the allegations against Jackson.

The backlash reportedly came in the form of vandalism and death threats, she told The Star.

UPDATE: Several months after being arrested and charged with felony aggravated sexual battery, Patrick Mahomes’ brother, Jackson Mahomes, was in court again on January 3.

According to reports, in court, prosecutors dropped the three felony charges against Mahomes, while he is still facing the fourth charge for misdemeanor battery. As the AP reports, prosecutors made the decision to miss three of the charges after Vaughn refused to testify against him.

In a statement given to People, Jackson’s attorney Brandon Davies reiterated that his client “has done nothing wrong. We had full confidence that the truth of the matter would ultimately be revealed.

Jackson Mahomes, the 22-year-old brother of the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, was arrested and booked into Johnson County (Kansas) Detention Center on account of aggravated sexual battery.

His arrest was in relation to an incident that occurred at a Kansas restaurant in February, in which the staff of Aspens Restaurant and Lounge in Overland Park claim the 22-year-old shoved a waiter and forcibly kissed the owner. Aspen Vaughn, the owner of the restaurant, told The Kansas City Star at the time that Mahomes grabbed her throat and non-consensually kissed her twice.

“He forcibly kissed me out of nowhere,” she explained. “I’m telling him, pushing him off saying, ‘What are you doing?’ and then he proceeded to do it two more times, where the last time I was pushing him off, and I can see on the cameras that somebody was outside the office door, and I was yelling for them to come help because he’s big and massive.”

Surveillance video published Wednesday by TMZ shows Mahomes in the restaurant with his hands around Vaughn’s neck and kissing her. However, Brandon Davies, an attorney representing the 22-year-old TikTok star, has denied allegations of wrongdoing on various occasions.

In March, he issued a statement to KCTV5 that said the video of his client was taken out of context. “We have provided law enforcement with the tools and evidence they need to evaluate the claims against Jackson,” Davies’ statement read. “Every interaction between people needs to be placed in the proper context. Releasing a short clip of any video does not provide proper context. We have faith in the process and look forward to a swift resolution of the matter.”

Attorney says Jackson Mahomes ‘has done nothing wrong’ following restaurant incident

According to Fox Sports, the attorney also said his team has evidence that doesn’t place Mahomes in the wrong. “Jackson has done nothing wrong,” he explained.

Davies went on to add, “Our investigation has revealed substantial evidence refuting the claims of Jackson’s accuser, including the statements of several witnesses. We have reached out to law enforcement to provide the fruit of our investigation so that they may have a complete picture of the matter.”

Since the news broke about the incident, Brittany Mahomes, sister-in-law to Jackson, defended him on social media when asked what she thinks of the situation.

“He is a human just trying to live his life and find his way and until you walk a day in his shoes (which no one ever will) you have no right to say s— about him,” she said in response to those criticizing her brother-in-law.
