According to Smart, he, Jamie, and some other pals were in Portugal when Jamie, himself, and the others began feeling ill. According to Gordon, they all thought they were experiencing symptoms of a heart attack.

As Smart went into detail, he felt tingling in his arm and hand and was admitted to a local hospital alongside Jamie. As doctors later revealed, it wasn’t a heart attack at all, but that they had been “infected” by a “pine processionary moth caterpillar.”

Pine processionary moth caterpillars have poison hairs all over their body, which can affect humans and kill some species of animals. Smart and Dornan likely came in contact with the caterpillars while playing golf.

Smart admitted they were all over the courses in Portugal.

Thankfully, both Dornan and Smart got the medical attention they needed and are now perfectly fine. Dornan has not yet shared his experience in his own words.
