Jamie Foxx Still in Georgia Hospital as Doctors Search for the Cause of His Recent Health Scare

CNN’s sources are confirming that Jamie Foxx is still in the same Georgia hospital he was admitted to last week during a health scare on April 11. The source said doctors are unsure what caused the medical complication, but they are currently ‘running tests’ and ‘trying to figure out what exactly happened.’

The update comes less than a week after his daughter, Corinne Fox, revealed that her father suffered a medical complication, but had already begun the recovery process. The 55-year-old has been filming a new movie, but he wasn’t on set when it occurred and he wasn’t transported via emergency vehicle.

“We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday. Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time,” Corinne wrote in a family statement.

Filming for Back in Action, which stars Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz, began in January 2023 in London, but most recently moved to Atlanta, Georgia a few weeks ago to shoot key scenes. Filming came to a halt on April 12 after learning of Foxx’s health scare but resumed the following day using a stand-in for Foxx.

A source also confirmed they were scheduled to film a scene on Sunday, but that scene was canceled and won’t be rescheduled due to changes in production. Filming continued on Monday and Tuesday and a source with CNN reported that filming is ‘currently underway and expected to wrap up next week.’

Reports suggest that Foxx played a major role in getting Diaz on board with joining the cast, adding that she felt she couldn’t pass up the opportunity to work alongside Foxx. It’s her first time on the big screen since 2014 and the third film she has done with Foxx – including Any Given Sunday (1999) and Annie (2014).
