It has been a scary past few days for Jamie Foxx and his family, but things are already starting to turn up. His daughter, Corinne Foxx, took to Instagram yesterday to reveal a recent medical emergency her father experienced. The emergency occurred on Tuesday, but he’s apparently already in recovery mode.
“We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday. Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time,” Corinne wrote in a family statement.
The family didn’t reveal anything else about the emergency – including what happened or how long he’ll be in the hospital recovering. According to TMZ, the emergency was a serious one and doctors are still trying to figure out what exactly happened – adding he’ll be in the hospital for at least a few more days.
TMZ also reported that the condition was serious enough for his family to visit him in the hospital as soon as possible – including some of his children who were out of town. While there was obviously some real concern there, several sources have said he’s communicating now and even joking with his family.
The news comes just a few months after Jamie Foxx started filming one of his newest film projects – Back in Action. The film is being directed by Seth Gordon, who also co-wrote the film with Brendan O’Brien. Foxx is starring in the film alongside Cameron Diaz, Glenn Close, Kyle Chandler, and Andrew Scott.
Filming began in January 2023 in London, but most recently moved to Atlanta, Georgia a few weeks ago to shoot key scenes. It’s unclear how long Foxx’s medical emergency will keep him away from filming the movie and whether or not it’ll cause any delays in its creation. For now, his health has to be top priority.
As of right now, it’s a highly-anticipated film that includes the return of Diaz, who hasn’t acted in a film since 2014 – when she appeared in Annie, Sex Tape, and The Other Woman. Despite being away from the game for nearly 10 years, one source said Diaz couldn’t pass up an opportunity to work with Foxx.
Jamie Foxx Has a Lot of Projects Coming Soon
Jamie Foxx has never been one to put his career on hold, but he has been a man on a mission lately and has been working nonstop on a variety of upcoming projects. For starters, he has two films releasing within the next few months – including Strays on June 9, 2023 and They Cloned Tyrone on July 21, 2023.
In addition to filming Back in Action, he’s also in the midst of filming another movie – Groove Tails – which hasn’t received a lot of press yet. Foxx is also the producer of Geechee, which he began filming in 2020, but it got delayed shortly after due to an incident where crew members were shot at by Dominican police.
That’s not all. Foxx is starring in God Is a Bullet, which wrapped up filming in March 2021, and The Burial, which saw Foxx join as an actor and director. And that’s not including a new action film he’s working on – Tin Soldier – alongside Robert De Niro. As you can see, Foxx has had his work cut out for him lately.
