After weeks of being separated from their daughter Ensley, Jenelle Evans and David Eason returned to court on Tuesday in the hopes of getting her, as well as Jenelle’s two older children, returned home. There, the couple did reunite with some of their kids, including Ensley and Jace, whom Jenelle shares with ex Nathan Griffith.
Jenelle and David finally got the chance to see their daughter last week after 23 days apart. The troubled couple showed up at court on Thursday morning in Whiteville, North Carolina and were reunited with Jenelle’s son, Jace, 9, and their daughter, Ensley, 2, for a short, court-supervised visit. In addition to Ensley and Jace, the couple saw Maryssa (11), David’s daughter from a previous relationship.
Jenelle and David lost custody of their daughter, Ensley, as well as Jenelle’s two older children, Jace and Kaiser, after David shot and killed the family dog and their home was deemed an unsafe environment for the three young children. Since May, the couple has been working to regain custody of the kids, including attending parenting classes and couples counseling.
Jenelle Evans and David Eason Return to Court
According to TMZ, Jenelle’s mom, Barbara, showed up at court with Jace and Ensley. Jenelle and David showed up separately. Both children have been staying with Barbara since Jenelle and David lost custody. Kaiser, who is staying with his dad, Nathan Griffith, did not make it for the visit.
The last time Jenelle and David were at the courthouse visiting Ensley, Jenelle and Barbara confronted each other in front of the cameras about Jenelle’s lack of commitment to her children. Today’s visit thankfully didn’t include any dramatic confrontations, at least between Jenelle and her mom.
Earlier last week, though, David threatened Nathan Griffith via Snapchat, saying “Since Nathan wants to tell all the court details but only from his narcissistic point of view. I guess I will spill the beans on his horrific past with his family…on top of other things…” Nathan has yet to respond.
Jenelle Evans Gets Messy on Social Media
Following their day in court, Jenelle posted a video of two-year-old Ensley giggling and smiling. Jenelle captioned the video, “She’s a mess but…she’s amazing. Come home #MommasGirl.” She has since deleted the video.
Still, Evans continues to post on Instagram during the ordeal, including an ultrasound pic that seriously confused fans. She captioned the photo “#linkinbio” which then sends fans to a May 24 Us Weekly story about “best birth announcements.” This is the second time in as many weeks that she’s posted a faux pregnancy announcement. (Again, she has since deleted the post, although she later posted a photo of herself with the caption, “Here’s the real story behind the baby pictures” with a link to this article.)
The couple was recently spotted in Washington, D.C. where Evans attended meetings about the distribution of her soon-to-relaunch makeup line.
