Jennifer Lopez Brings 11-Year-Old Daughter on Stage During Super Bowl Halftime Show, And People Loved It

Jennifer Lopez wears many hats. She’s a singer, a dancer, an actress, an entrepreneur, a producer, but most importantly, she’s a mom of two.

On February 22, 2008, Lopez and her ex-husband, singer Marc Anthony, welcomed twins, Max and Emme, into the world. The soon-to-be 12-year-olds are the apples of both of their parents’ eyes and now the world knows that Emme has caught the music bug from her parents.

Emme has performed with her mother before in the past, but never on a stage quite this big and in front of this many people. On February 2, Lopez and singer Shakira took to the Pepsi Super Bowl halftime stage and dazzled the millions of people watching inside the stadium and at home.

The duo played a slew of their top hits but one of the biggest surprises of night was when Emme appeared on stage and performed both a solo and a duet with her mom. You can watch Emme’s portion of the performance, which starts at the 11:40 mark, below:

The 11-year-old sang a piece of her mom’s song Let’s Get Loud. And let’s be honest, she nailed it, and Lopez couldn’t be prouder of her mini-me.

Lopez wrote on Instagram, “Puerto Rico y Colombia muy en alto hoy. Muchas gracias a mi coco Emme, Shakira, J. Balvin, and Bad Bunny.” And Emme’s father was also extremely proud of her.

He added, “Emme, Daddy is so proud of you. You are my [heart] and I am forever yours.” And the praise didn’t stop there. As many people are well aware, Lopez is engaged to former professional baseball player Alex Rodriguez.

He and his two daughters, 11-year-old Ella and 15-year-old Natasha were also extremely proud of their stepsister. Ella told Entertainment Tonight, “My favorite part was when the little girls came out and Emme sang, it was really good.”

And Natasha added, “It was the coolest thing to watch my stepsister sing. I’m so proud of her every time I see her, and her voice is just angelic. My favorite part was whenever the beat dropped and the crowd just went crazy, and the energy in the stadium was unreal.”

How sweet are these sisters supporting one another? And Rodriguez also loved the show as is evident by the video he shared while watching his soon-to-be wife kill it on stage.

However, while the Hustler star wowed most of the people who watched the performance, there were a few naysayers who slammed the mom for pole dancing during the halftime show. One person wrote, “I feel that they both are talented but ruined it with this stupid stripper performance. Why? They are so much better than that. [I] was disappointed.”

But others quickly came to the 50-year-old’s defense. “Unfortunately there will always be those that have to find something to complain about because that’s what they do,” another said. “This happens EVERY YEAR. I loved it. I wish I could do a fraction of what they do when I’m that age. Hell, I can’t do it now and I’m in my 30s.”

What did you all think of the performance?
