On July 7, Modern Family’s Jesse Tyler Ferguson and his husband Justin Mikita became parents for the first time. According to People, a rep for Ferguson confirmed the news shortly after the baby’s arrival.
In a statement given exclusively to People, the rep said the coupe welcomed a baby boy into the world. “Jesse and Justin welcomed their little bundle of joy Beckett Mercer Ferguson-Mikita on July 7, 2020. The new parents are overjoyed and excited for this new journey as a family of three.”

And although the couple has yet to share a photo of their son with their fans, Mikita did make his own announcement over the weekend. And it’s clear the new dad is very excited.
Along with a photo of an onesie that read, “Vegas Born,” Mikita captioned the photo with an homage to legendary pop icon, Britney Spears. “It’s Beckett, B*tch,” the dad began.
“Thanks to the incredible team at Summerlin hospital – especially Collette. Thanks for taking care of us. Welcome to the world, Beckett Mercer. We love you more than I could’ve ever dreamed of. Thanks for all the messages and congratulations. We are over the moon.”
And their fans, family, and friends couldn’t be happier for them. “I am so happy for you two,” celebrity designer Breegan Jane wrote. “Beckett is going to be engulfed with love!!! I can’t wait to watch you guys step into these new roles (you’re going to be amazing!!!), and I’m totally already waiting on some newborn Beckett snuggles!! Sending so much love your way!!”
Ferguson and Mikita first announced they were expecting a child in February while the actor was a guest on The Late Late Show with James Corden. “This is something I haven’t even mentioned to anyone if we could just keep it between the three of us and you all, but I’m actually expecting a baby in July with my husband. I’m very excited, but it feels like I’m 44 now, let’s get this show going. Tick tock.”
