The COVID-19 “baby boom” may actually be a myth, but celebrities everywhere are doing their parts to make us believe otherwise. After a long string of birth and pregnancy announcements that have been shared over the last few months, there may be yet another surprise. Jessica Biel and husband Justin Timberlake reportedly welcomed their second child, a son, earlier this week, which is interesting because none of us knew they were pregnant.
Daily Mail reports that the couple welcomed a new son last week, and that Biel and baby have been resting at home with Timberlake and the couple’s first son, Silas, aged 5.

The report also reveals that Biel’s mom, Kimberly Conroe Biel, is there with them to help care for the infant. The family is reportedly quarantining at home together in Montana.
The news comes as a surprise since neither Biel nor Timberlake ever confirmed or even inferred that they were expecting. Both have been keeping relatively low profiles on social media, however. They have popped up occasionally to share messages of support for the Black Lives Matter movement, for example, though.
And what little we have seen of Biel over the last few months has mostly been throwbacks and selfies taken from the chest-up. Hindsight is 20/20, but maybe there were some clues after all.
Biel did share a throwback photo tribute to Timberlake in honor of Father’s Day earlier this summer.
“To the dad who not only protects and provides but most importantly, PLAYS, and puts up with all our shenanigans,” her post caption began. “And teaches and guides and comforts and accepts and respects. Being a dad can sometimes be a thankless job, but today we hope you know how important you are in our lives. We love you forever and ever and a day. Love mom and Silas.” Takes on new meaning given this most recent news!
It hasn’t been all sunshine and roses for the Biel-Timberlakes recently, however. Late last year, the couple weathered a “cheating” scandal after Timberlake was filmed engaging in PDA with Alisha Wainwright, an actress with whom Timberlake is starring in the upcoming movie Palmer.
In December, Timberlake issued a public apology, saying, “I displayed a strong lapse in judgment — but let me be clear — nothing happened between me and my costar. I drank way too much that night and I regret my behavior. I should have known better. This is not the example I want to set for my son. I apologize to my amazing wife and family for putting them through such an embarrassing situation, and I am focused on being the best husband and father I can be.”
It is not yet known whether Biel was already pregnant at the time of the PDA scandal.
Biel and Timberlake began dating in 2007 and eventually married in 2012. They welcomed their first son, Silas, in April of 2015.
