John Stamos Details Bob Saget’s Last Few Hours Before His Unexpected Passing

Since starring in an über successful sitcom from 1987 to 1997, actors John Stamos and Bob Saget have been the best of friends. From their Full House days when they played brothers-in-law to their more recently Fuller House days, Saget and Stamos have become synonymous with each other.

And when the news of Bob Saget’s passing was made public, Stamos was one of the first to issue a statement.

“I am broken. I am gutted. I am in complete and utter shock,” Stamos wrote on Twitter. “I will never ever have another friend like him. I love you so much, Bobby.”

Stamos then issued another statement. This one describes what Saget did just a few hours before his unexpected passing.

“I’m not ready to accept that he’s gone – I’m not going to say goodbye yet. I’m going to imagine him out there, still on the road, doing what he loves with all his heart and humor,” Stamos’ second statement read. “He’s standing on stage, killing! Another two-hour set in front of a couple hundred of the luckiest people on the planet. They’re laughing so hard, they weep.”

Stamos then detailed how Bob Saget spent his last few hours.

“On his way to the hotel, he calls his beautiful, loving wife, Kelly. He says he feels 26 again, alive! Then asks her to fix up a picture he wants to post. She tells him it doesn’t need fixing, and tells him how handsome he is. He tells her he loves her with every bit of his heart. And when he gets to the hotel to put his head on the pillow, he misses his daughters, his family, his friends. God, he loves us all so much. And he goes to sleep dreaming of when we’ll all meet again – and he’s smiling. I know in my heart he’s smiling, still hearing the laughter from a few hours before.”

“I’m just not ready to say goodbye yet,” Stamos writes. “Maybe tomorrow. Maybe.”

As Mamas Uncut previously reported, Bob Saget was discovered in his Ritz-Carlton hotel room in Orlando, Florida. Joshua Stephany, the chief medical examiner of Orange and Osceola Counties, revealed that preliminary autopsy results revealed that “there is no evidence of drug use or foul play. The cause and manner of death are pending further studies and investigation which may take up to 10-12 weeks to complete. Our condolences go out to Mr. Saget’s loved ones during this difficult time.”

He was just 65 years old. Saget leaves behind his beloved wife and three adult children.

“My whole heart. Bob was my absolute everything,” Saget’s wife, Kelly Rizzo, said in her own statement. “I am so completely shattered and in disbelief. I am so deeply touched by the outpouring of love and tribute from our friends, family, his fans, and his peers.”

“When the time is right and when this news is not as raw, I look forward to sharing more of Bob with the world,” Rizzo continued. “Sharing how much he meant to me, all of those around him, and how much all of his fans and friends meant to him as well. Thank you for respecting my privacy at this time.”
