While Jon Gosselin has told the public in the past that his son Collin doesn’t have special needs, he is now admitting Collin has mental health issues, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder to be exact. The moment of candor came about while talking with the Daily Mail.
As Mamas Uncut previously reported, Gosselin came under fire when Collin wrote, and then later deleted, a disturbing Instagram post about his dad. According to People, the deleted-social media confession read, “My dad is a liar. Yesterday he beat me up and thought nothing of it, he punched me in the face and gave me a swollen nose and I started bleeding. He then continued to kick me in the ribs after I was on the floor. He is a liar.”

Following the alleged physical altercation, Collin called the police. After police responded to the call, Berks County District Attorney John Adams told People that “no charges or citations filed as a result of that incident. That’s the only incident we are aware of at this point and there was no citation or charges filed as a result of the incident.”
After the investigation was made public, Jon’s ex-wife Kate Gosselin issued a statement saying, “I do not want this buried, swept under the rug, or minimized. As a mother, I am not going to sit quietly and idly by while my child, any of my children, is assaulted by anyone, let alone their own father.” She went on to add, that she is “horrified that this man is the father of my children. I don’t want my children to be associated with someone who loses his mind because his car got dented.”
Now, Jon is hitting back at his ex-wife with whom he shares 8 children. In an interview with the Daily Mail, Jon said Kate “hasn’t seen Collin in five years and now she’s going to try to come out as the caring mother when in fact the reason Collin is struggling with mental illness is because she abused him.”
“He has PTSD because of her. So I’m not going to sit back and not defend myself or my family. Dealing with a child with mental health issues is taxing, I’m taxed. But I love my son. I will not give up. I go to therapy, we all go to family therapy, to deal with having a son that has been traumatized and abused by his mother.”
The Daily Mail also reported that the allegations made against Jon were “shelved within 24 hours” by authorities. The Mail also reported that the allegations were allegedly made up by Collin when he “wasn’t getting his way.”

It’s unclear what, if any, actions Kate is taking to see to it that Collin is removed from Jon’s home. She also has not yet responded to Jon’s latest statements.
