Josh Duggar had himself a lonely weekend from November 10 to November 13. According to a report by the The U.S. Sun, Duggar – who is in prison for receiving and possessing child pornography – spent that Friday-Monday inside his jail cell. No weekly visitors, no recreational time – he was nowhere to be seen.
This is particularly surprising because he has been receiving regular visits from his wife, Anna Duggar, and their seven children – Mackynzie, Michael, Marcus, Meredith, Mason, Maryella, and Madyson – all of whom support their father and believe he is innocent. Yet, none of them visited him between Nov. 10-13.
Duggar is allowed visitors between 2:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Friday, and 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. He is also allowed recreational time in the early mornings and afternoon, but wasn’t seen engaging in that, either – suggesting his rights may have been temporarily limited.

“Josh was not seen outside engaging in sports, walking the track, or participating in other recreational activities,” said one insider close to the situation, according to the U.S. Sun. The outlet also confirmed that Duggar still has more than eight years left in his prison sentence – he’s set for release on Oct. 2, 2032.
Josh Duggar is currently serving a 151-month sentence in a low-security federal prison (FCI Seagoville near Dallas, TX) – a sentence he received in May 2022 and began in June 2022. He was initially arrested in April 2021 on one count of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.
In October 2022, with nearly 10 years left in his sentence, Duggar’s lawyer, Justin Gelfand, filed an appeal in hopes of getting a new trial and overturning the conviction. The appeal hearing occurred in February 2023, but his lawyers were unsuccessful, and his request for a new trial was denied in August.
They continued to fight and requested an ‘extension of time’ for filing a petition for a rehearing. They were granted that extension, and the petition was later filed, but the appeals court issued a mandate (an official order) to have Duggar’s appeal officially terminated, as of Oct. 5, 2023. The lower court was then notified.
Josh Duggar Will Spend the Next 9 Years in Prison
Josh Duggar and his legal team tried to pin the blame on one of his former employees, Caleb Williams – who was arrested in November 2018 after being accused of sexually abusing a minor between 2015 and 2018. Duggar accused Williams of regularly using the only computer in the office with child porn on it.
Their allegations didn’t go far, as they couldn’t prove Williams was at the scene of the crime (Wholesale Motorcars, a used car dealership owned by Duggar) at the time it was committed. In fact, text messages placed Josh Duggar at the scene of the crime 20 minutes before child pornography was downloaded.

It appears as if his fight in court is over as he runs out of options – especially now that his appeal has been terminated. That means he’ll remain behind bars for another 8+ years (until Oct. 2, 2032, unless things change between now and then). We’ll see if his wife and children continue to support him.
