Kanye West Speaks About Abortion, His Daughter North West, and Wife Kim Kardashian at Random South Carolina Campaign Rally as He Continues Bid for Presidency

During a makeshift rally as he continues his run for the presidency, rapper Kanye West got very personal when talking about abortion, the beginning of his relationship with wife Kim Kardashian West, and when he learned Kim was pregnant with North, their firstborn.

West was in Charleston, South Carolina encouraging people to put him on the ballot in South Carolina. However, while wearing a bulletproof vest and “2020” shaved into his hairline, the speech West gave turned a lot of heads but for the wrong reasons.

Before being asked about abortion from a person in the audience, West made comments like, “Harriet Tubman never actually freed the slaves, she just had them work for other white people.” And then threatened Gap and Addidas that he would “walk away” from the deals he has with them if they don’t put him on their boards “today.”

And as People reports, when he got on the topic of abortion, he became emotional. “My mom saved my life. My dad wanted to abort me. My mom saved my life,” West said at one point.

“There would have been no Kanye West because my dad was too busy,” it was at this point that West started crying before he yelled, “I almost killed my daughter.”

In a moment not captured on camera, West talking about the moment Kim told him she was pregnant with North. “In the Bible, it says, ‘Thou shall not kill.’ I remember that my girlfriend called me screaming and crying, and I was just thinking — because at that time I was a rapper I was out there, [had] different girlfriends and everything — and she said, ‘I’m pregnant.’ And I said, ‘Yes!’ And then I said, ‘Uh oh.'”

“She was crying… and for one month and two months and three months, we talked about her not having this child. She had the pills in her hand. I’m in the apartment where my wife was actually robbed, and I have my laptop up and I have all of my creative ideas, I’ve got my shoes, I’ve got my next song cover… and the screen went black and white. And God said, ‘If you f— with my vision I’m gonna f— with yours.’ And I called my wife and she said, ‘We’re gonna have this baby,’ and I said ‘We’re gonna have this child.’”

Kanye praised Kim for saving North’s life, even “if she wants to divorce me after this speech.”

The rapper also claimed that if he became president he would get rid of Plan B, a contraceptive that prevents pregnancy within 72 hours after sex. His solution to getting rid of Plan B would be to create “Plan A,” which would offer women who don’t get abortions $1 million.
