Kate Gosselin Was Reportedly Fired by TLC for Illegally Filming Her Children for Her TV Show

2020 is not off to a good start for reality TV star and mother, Kate Gosselin. Kate has appeared in a number of series for TLC over the years including Jon & Kate Plus 8 and Kate Plus Date.

Kate was reportedly fired by TLC following an incident in which she was found in contempt of court for illegally filming her underage children. This directly defied not only the court but a standing legal agreement Kate had with her ex-husband, Jon Gosselin.

TLC apparently doesn’t like its stars breaking the law.

According to new reporting from Radar, Kate appeared before a Judge in Pennsylvania on December 19th. The judge ordered Kate to pay a $1,500 fine to her ex, Jon Gosselin, for breaking an order stating that her underage kids cannot be filmed without his consent. Of her many kids, Alexis, Aaden, Joel, and Leah were filmed.

According to an insider who witnessed the court proceedings, “Kate stated in court that TLC has terminated their relationship with her.”

She just dropped that little bomb. Despite that news, it seems like the kids are doing just fine.

As Kate was detailing her fitness as a parent, she produced documents showing that “the kids are doing great with school,” the insider added.

That’s great news considering that Jon and Kate have been in an ugly public spat as of late. It’s included Jon going on Dr. Oz. And,her daughter trying to distance herself from her parents.

In November, Kate’s ex went on Dr. Oz and had some harsh criticism.

While talking with Dr. Oz, Jon said that Kate is an “unfit mother.” He further stated, “I believe her belief system is skewed,” when talking about her fitness as a parent.

This happened just a couple of months ago in November and it wasn’t pretty.

Kate’s college-aged daughter, Mady also needed some space.

The kids are all right, but they’re growing into adulthood and forging their own identities. Kate might have been a little hurt by news that her daughter wants some distance from her after moving to college.

“Kate and Mady are on a lot better terms. Going away to college has actually made them closer,” a source told InTouch. “They love each other, but Mady wouldn’t mind if her mom didn’t comment on her social media posts, only because she wants her own identity. She doesn’t want to be associated with the reality show and her parents’ drama.”

We’d really like to know how Jon feels about Kate getting fired from TLC.

In Jon’s Dr. Oz appearance, he said that fame and celebrity had taken its toll on his family and especially Kate. He should be feeling pretty vindicated at this point because he knew that his ex-wife seemed more concerned with her reality TV star status and less about following the rules.

Whatever the case may be, we sure hope Kate lands on her feet and on firm ground after this latest development.
