When it comes to being real on the internet, singer Katy Perry does not shy away. That didn’t change during her pregnancy and it’s not changing now that she’s several days postpartum.
As Mamas Uncut previously reported, during the early morning hours of August 26, Perry took to Instagram to share a sweet photo of her and Orlando Bloom holding their little girl’s tiny hand along with the statement they gave to UNICEF announcing her birth. The couple named their daughter, Daisy Dove.
Perry and Bloom wrote that they were “floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter,” before asking their fans to donate to UNICEF who “is there, on the ground, doing whatever it takes to make sure every expecting mother, who is not as lucky as Perry was, has access to a trained health worker and access to quality healthcare.”
In the photo, Perry is seen rocking her postpartum undies, a pumping bra, a messy bun, and a look that says, “Yes, I did just give birth to a human being.” As she wrote on the photo her “hair and makeup” were brought to you by “exhaustion.”
The post was not only a point of relatability but it was also poking fun at why she wasn’t at the MTV Video Music Awards, which aired on August 30. Perry has also applauded herself and showed off her multitasking skills after she not only gave birth to her first child but in the same week released her newest studio album.
“Me after feeding all day handing Daisy off to daddy bout to deliver this 2nd child #SMILEISCOMING lezz go,” Perry wrote on Instagram before taking to Twitter to say, “Delivering a baby and a record in the same week, don’t f*ck with mama aka #whatmakesawoman.”

While Perry has been open about her pregnancy experience and her postpartum experience, so far, and although she has shared how she decorated her Daisey’s room and her daughter’s name, Perry and Bloom have been fairly mum about their daughter in general. And that’s not very surprising considering how private Bloom and his ex, Miranda Kerr, are with their son Flynn.
