Kelly Clarkson Breaks Down Talking About Her Difficult Pregnancies With Hillary Clinton

Kelly Clarkson broke down on her show while talking with former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Clinton was the latest guest to appear on The Kelly Clarkson Show. During their on-camera conversation, the two women got on the topic of pregnancy and Arizona Supreme Court’s near-total abortion ban.

While discussing the sensitive topics, Clarkson opened up about how hard both of her pregnancies were. As the singer/talk show host revealed, she was “hospitalized” during both pregnancies.

In fact, Clarkson said her pregnancy with her son was so difficult “I mean, literally, I asked God, this is a real thing, ‘to just take me and my son,’ in the hospital the second time because I was like, it’s the worst thing.”

Clarkson then got emotional. “I didn’t know I’d get emotional, sorry.”

That’s when Clinton told her “it’s okay. You’re speaking for so many. You’re speaking for literally millions of women in our country and around the world.”

“It, um, it was just the worst,” Clarkson continued after composing herself. “To make someone go through that — whew.”

The singer continued saying “it was my decision” to have children “and I’m so glad I did. I love my babies. But to make someone … “There’s a cruelty toward women, towards women’s lives,” Clinton chimed in.

“You don’t realize how hard it is,” Clarkson added. “The fact that you would take that away from someone. That it can literally kill them. The fact if they’re raped … by their family member … and they have to — like that, it’s just like insane to me.”

In a 4-2 ruling by the Arizona Supreme Court on April 9, the state’s near-total abortion ban was reinstated. The law was first introduced more than 150 years ago in 1864.
