Kelly Clarkson Accompanied by 9-Year-Old Daughter and 7-Year-Old Son Onstage During Las Vegas Residency

When Kelly Clarkson announced her 10-date residency at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, she promised that every show will be a little different – and she wasn’t lying! On Friday (August 18), she welcomed two surprise guests onstage with her and it wasn’t any of her singer-songwriter friends – it was her children!

It was the second-to-last of 10 shows, so she decided to make it extra special – not just for the audience, but for herself and for her children. They each got to pick their own song to perform and took to the stage separately to share a special moment with their beloved mother – and the audience absolutely loved it.

Her 7-year-old son, Remington “Remy” Alexander, showed off his dance moves while Kelly performed one of his favorite songs – her 2017 hit song ‘Whole Lotta Women.’ Later on in the night, her 9-year-old daughter, River Rose, performed a duet with her mother and chose her 2015 hit track ‘Heartbeat Song.’

“My son is 7 years old. He picked the coolest song for a dude to pick. I was like, ‘He was destined for greatness just for loving this song alone,’” Kelly Clarkson said to the audience before welcoming her son, Remy B, onstage. He ran out and immediately gave his mother a huge hug – like any good son would do!

She explained to the audience that he was a little nervous to dance in front of so many people, but she reminded him that it’s no different than the dance sessions they have as a family at home. He then busted a quick move before his mother started belting out her tune – and all those nerves suddenly disappeared.

Not long after, Kelly Clarkson welcomed her daughter onstage and she was quick to announce how scared she was. In an effort to calm her daughter’s nerves, Kelly reminded her how good she did during the soundcheck and gave her a high-five. Without hesitation, the music started and they started singing.

While they were singing, Kelly had to enter ‘mom mode’ because there was a lyric that had the word ‘hell’ in it – referring to the “Where the hell did you come from?” line. She quickly (and jokingly) warned her daughter not to say the word ‘hell’ and they, instead, substituted it with the word ‘heck’ – crisis avoided!

Kelly Clarkson Does a Round of ‘Ask Me Anything’ on Instagram

On August 11, Kelly Clarkson teamed up with Planet Hollywood for a round of ‘Ask Me Anything’ and she provided answers to some of her fans’ most burning questions – including some of her favorite things to do in Las Vegas, her newest Chemistry album, and her subsequent Chemistry residency in Sin City.

Surprisingly enough, she says her favorite thing to do in Vegas – other than perform – is to sit down in front of a ‘gold spin Wheel of Fortune slot machine’ with her headphones on. She doesn’t care if that makes her sound like an 80-year-old and likens it to meditation – but reminds us to gamble responsibly!

As for the best piece of advice she ever received – never take advice from someone she wouldn’t trade places with in life – and if you’re wondering what songs she would recommend for a new fan listening to her new album, she goes with ‘Favorite Kind of High,’ ‘Lighthouse,’ ‘Mine,’ and ‘Red Flag Collector.’

If she had to describe her latest residency in three words, she would choose ‘intimate,’ ‘rock ‘n roll,’ and ‘emotional rollercoaster’ – which she admits is more than three words, but that’s okay. Her successful Las Vegas residency came to an end on August 19, but we already can’t wait until she takes the stage again!
