Kim Kardashian Talks About Her Break Up With Pete Davidson, Being Single, and What She’s Looking for in a New Man

One of the most notable differences between seasons 2 and 3 of The Kardashians is the relationship status of Kim Kardashian. The 42-year-old was in the midst of a nine-month relationship with Pete Davidson while filming Season 2, but was single while filming Season 3 and remains single to this day.

While preparing for a confessional during the early days of filming Season 3, one of her producers pointed out that she was in a relationship this time last year. “I was? Damn,” she said to the producer before confirming her current relationship status. “OK, I’m single. And I’m not ready to mingle and that’s OK.”

Kim and Pete started dating in October 2021, roughly eight months after she filed for divorce from Kanye West. They remained together for nine months before deciding to go their separate ways in August 2022 – roughly one month before the family started filming for Season 3. She has stayed single since the split.

In the season premiere, Kim Kardashian is talking to her sister, Khloe Kardashian, and her other sister’s ex-boyfriend, Scott Disick, when her breakup with Pete Davidson gets brought up. Kim goes on to declare that ‘breakups are just not my thing’ before providing some context behind their reason for breaking up.

“We just had talks and talks, we’d been talking about it. So it’s just like both of us just communicating really well about it. It’s obviously sad when you… nine months. It’s like a long time,” she said to Khloe and Scott – adding she’s not the type to do ‘random hookups’ and prefers being in a long-term relationship.

She also talked about some of the drama the couple faced while they were dating – mostly referring to the abuse they received from Kanye West, which involved threats, nasty rumors, and false claims. She couldn’t help but feel guilty and acknowledged that Pete ‘went through a lot because of my relationship.’

Kim and Kanye started dating in 2012, became engaged on October 21, 2013, and tied the knot on May 24, 2014 in Florence, Italy. They share four children together – North West (b. June 15, 2013), Saint West (b. December 5, 2015), Chicago West (b. January 15, 2018), and Psalm West (b. May 9, 2019).

Kim Kardashian Wonders If Anyone Will Want to Date Her Now

While Kim Kardashian isn’t looking to date right now, she remains open to finding love in the future – though she worries no one will want to date her after all she’s been through, especially over the past few years. More specifically, she cites having four kids, being in her 40s, and the drama that surrounds her.

Still, she stays hopeful that her perfect man exists and is out there waiting for her – and she knows exactly what she wants out of him. “My person will say f**k all of that,” she says of her desire to find a man who’s willing to look past her flaws, imperfections, and/or baggage. “I’m just waiting for that person.”

That man hasn’t entered her life just yet, but she’s not giving up hope. Either way, her focus remains on her children and finishing school – two of the most important things in her life at the moment. The socialite revealed her plans to study to become a lawyer in 2019 and has continued to chase that dream of hers.
