Kim Kardashian West Says Daughter North Wants To Be An Only Child

Despite having three siblings, Kim Kardashian West says daughter North West wishes she was an only child most days.

In an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, West spoke on her eldest’s personality. Kardashian shares daughters North, 8, and Chicago, 3, and sons Saint, 5 ½, and Psalm, 2, with Kanye West.

“You know, North, I thought she was gonna grow out of this ‘I want to be an only child’ phase….she hasn’t,” Kardashian, 40, began. “Even to go to school, there will be times where she’s like ‘I’m not riding in the car with my brother.’ “

Kim revealed she is the “carpool mom” for school as the family has tons of friends and cousins who live in their neighborhood. She informed DeGeneres, 63, that while she tries to make carpooling fun, sometimes North makes…demands.

“I have to make it a thing where sometimes we have to take two cars because I’ve agreed to pick up so many and I have to separate the kids because she wants her own music, her own vibe, she wants to sit with her friends. So I have to trade-off.”

“North is like goth,” Kim said of her eldest. “She’s into Hot Topic and she puts like fake tattoos on her face and she listens to Black Sabbath. And she’s just like a full goth girl.”

West 40, recently admitted to Parents magazine in the September 2021 issue how she would like to work on being stricter as a mom and saying “no” to four kids

“When my kids want something, typically candy, they give me this look directly in my eyes that cuts right through me. I usually give in and give them what they want,” says Kardashian West.

And while she knows her weak spots, she also knows her strengths: “I’m naturally very calm, which I think translates into my parenting. I don’t get super stressed or impatient, which I think is definitely a superpower when you have three kids age 5 and under running around.”

“They get along so well and have so much love for each other. It reminds me of growing up with Kourtney, Khloé and Rob. There’s something so special about having a big family, and I’m happy my babies get that experience the way I did,” she shares.

“Keeping their rooms neat and organized, especially their closets [is the hardest part].”
