In an Instagram post, Kim Kardashian West revealed the gift she received from her husband Kanye West, who is known for giving some pretty interesting gifts. For example, while celebrating Kim for “officially becoming a billionaire,” Kanye gifted her a photo he took of vegetables interspersed with flowers.
Her birthday present was a little bit different, but still unlike anything many people have ever seen before. As fans of the Kardashian family know, Kim, Kourtney, Khloe, and Rob’s father, Robert Kardashian Sr., passed away in 2003 after a battle with cancer.

And while it has been 17 years since their beloved father’s passing, the four siblings often talking about their dad and do their best to keep his memory alive, whether that be through their Armenian ancestry or by Kim following in his footsteps by getting her law degree.
However, Kanye had a different take on keeping his father-in-law’s memory alive and that was gifting his wife a hologram of her late father. The hologram also had a message for Kim.
“You’re 40 and all grown up,” the hologram began. “You look beautiful, just like when you were a little girl. I watch over you and your sisters and brother — and the kids — every day.”
The message also included specific memories from their time together, like when he would drive her to school in his “tiny Mercedes” and they would sing Barry Mann songs together.
“I am so proud of the woman that you’ve become, Kimberly, and all that you’ve accomplished. But most impressive is your commitment to become a lawyer and carry on my legacy. It’s a long and a hard road, but it’s worth it, and I’m with you every step of the way.”
The hologram also mentioned Kanye calling him “the most genius man in the world,” before calling Kim the most wonderful mother. The hologram concluded by telling the reality star to keep doing what shel’s doing.
“Keep doing what you’re doing, Kimberly, you are a beautiful soul. Know that I am very proud of you and I am always with you. I have built a firewall around our family. I love you … Don’t forget to say your prayers.”
It was a gift Kim Kardashian West says she loved.
“For my birthday, Kanye got me the most thoughtful gift of a lifetime. A special surprise from heaven. A hologram of my dad. It is so lifelike and we watched it over and over, filled with lots so tears and emotion,” Kim said on Instagram. “I can’t even describe what this meant to me and my sisters, my brother, my mom and closest friends to experience together. Thank you so much Kanye for this memory that will last a lifetime.”
However, those on the outside have perceived the gift as weird. “Am I the only one that thinks this is terrifying?” some commenters wrote. Nonetheless, her siblings and those in her inner circle loved it.
The reveal of Kanye’s gift to her comes after the mom of four received backlash for the birthday getaway she through for herself and 20 or so of her closest friends. As Mamas Uncut reported, Kim took her closest family and friends to a private island where they ate, drank, and pretended that life was normal for several days.
