The Kardashians are accustomed to getting shamed for their parenting choices. From the time Kim’s daughter North West wore a corset to the time when Kourtney’s daughter Penelope was seen wearing a lip ring, these famous moms are often in the hot seat.
Now, Kylie Jenner is facing some backlash after posting a photo of her daughter Stormi wearing gold hoop earrings with her name in cursive across the middle. Let’s just say that people had some, ah, opinions about the mom’s accessory choices.

“Okay, so Stormi is wearing a hoop earring at age of 2? Lost my respect to Kylie Jenner. Stop your publicity stunt and stop using your kid for a publicity stunt,” one commenter wrote. “Please make her [wear] small ones, hoops are not for kids,” said another.

However, while some shamed Kylie because they believed Stormi is too young to be sporting gold hoops, others seemed to be thinking of Stormi’s safety. “This is why kids shouldn’t have earrings. Earrings are dangerous asf for a toddler.”
And Kylie isn’t the first Kardashian to be shamed for letting her kids wear hoop earrings. Kim faced the same backlash when she posted a photo of North sporting some impressive hoop earrings on vacation.
Luckily for Kylie, many fans commented about how much they loved Stormi’s style, including her hoop earrings and up-do. “Yassss earrings,” said Khloe Kardashian’s best friend, Malika. “I’m dead,” said makeup artist Hrush Achemyan. It’s safe to say that Kylie wouldn’t put her child in any danger.
And even more came to the young mom’s defense. “Are y’all serious? STOP MOM SHAMING HER! It’s not your child,” a commenter added. “I don’t think you would want to be mom-shamed so stop doing it to her. She is not putting her child in danger at all. She’s giving her child the best life she could possibly have. But that’s not your concern. Go worry about your family, not hers. Stop with the negativity. It’s irrelevant and rude.”
Stormi recently celebrated her second birthday with an epic “Stormi World”-themed birthday party, hosted by Kylie and her ex Travis Scott. The party had rides, Stormi head-shaped pillows and an impressive spread of candy.
“Favorite day of the year,” proud mom Kylie posted when she shared pictures from the big celebration.
