Lindsay Lohan is not happy after the franchise she helped create targeted her for their own gain.
As many already know, one of Lohan’s most memorable roles to date was her role as Cady Herron in the original version of Mean Girls. In fact, she even made a surprise appearance in the musical remake of the movie that was just released.
However, while Lohan was excited about her role in the remake, she was admittedly caught off guard when she learned of the joke in the movie that was made at her expense.
In the movie, Megan Thee Stallion is heard saying “fire crotch is back,” which is believed to be in reference to a 2006 clip from TMZ in which one of Paris Hilton’s friends calls Lohan a “fire crotch” several times.
As the only original cast member to make an appearance in the new movie, Lohan is admittedly upset about the slight. Her publicist and her father are now speaking out, defending Lohan.
“Lindsay was very hurt and disappointed by the reference in the film,” Lohan’s publicist, Leslie Sloane, said in a statement shared with People. Mean Girls creator Tina Fey has yet to offer a comment on her own on the situation.
Micheal Lohan, Linday’s father, also spoke out on his daughter’s behalf, saying he is “pissed” over the low blow, calling it a “disgusting comment.” He also accused Fey of using his daughter simply for box office numbers.
He went on to tell TMZ that the weak box office performance was karma. “I will say this, however, NOBODY can replace Lindsay or the original cast in that film. Nor can Megan replace Lindsay in the new Planet Fitness commercial dressed like a stripper in a fitness commercial.”
Yikes.
