Congrats are in order!
Country music superstars Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd welcomed a beautiful baby boy named Hayes Andrew Hurd on Monday. Maren announced the good news on Instagram the same day and shared photos of the happy occasion.
Maren captioned the photos “Love of our lives.” The photos show Maren holding her sleeping newborn and Ryan snuggling up to Hayes as well. The photos were taken in Nashville where Maren gave birth.
Maren wasn’t the only parent who felt compelled to share the amazing news. Ryan also took to Instagram and shared photos of his son with the caption, “Hayes Hurd” and his son’s birthday, “3.23.20.” His son’s middle name, Andrew was given to him to honor Ryan’s late brother, who died in a car accident at 16-years-old.
Maren, 29, announced her pregnancy in October (which seems like a lifetime ago). She shared a gorgeous image of herself draped in fabric and cradling her baby bump. In the photo, Ryan, 33, leans in for a very romantic and sweet image.
Maren captioned the photo, “The irony is just too rich that after a year of living in the ‘GIRL’ headspace, the universe would give us a baby boy to even things out.” The caption references Maren’s second album titled, GIRL.
Just a couple of days before giving birth, Maren posted a video of her, very pregnant, self dancing to Harry Belafonte’s “Jump In the Line (Shake, Senora).” She captioned the fun video, “Harry Belafonte issuing an eviction notice for this baby.” She was clearly ready to have her baby.
2019 was a big year for Maren and she got to show off her baby bump at all sorts of events, including the CMA Awards where she won album of the year. However, she and Ryan decided to skip the Grammy Awards in favor of a peaceful getaway to Blackberry Farm in Walland, Tennessee.
She shared a photo of herself from the trip with her hand on her baby bump in front of a placid pond. She captioned the peaceful photo, “back at the farm #babymoon.” Can we all start going on “babymoons”?
After the babymoon, the couple returned to Nashville where they celebrated their son-to-be with a baby shower surrounded by friends, family, and lots of love. The photographer, Catherine Powell, shared images from the party and wrote, “Celebrated this beautiful mom-to-be on Sunday and it was cute as heck.”
Baby showers, dancing to Harry Belafonte, and peaceful retreats weren’t the only steps this mom took to prepare for her son. She also shared images of her “dream nursery” designed by April Tomlin in early March.
The cozy nursery features muted and tranquil colors that would help any mom relax. She described her design choices to Taste of Country saying, “I want the nursery to feel really cozy and dark.” She went on to explain that she hopes the dark colors encourage sleep for her newborn before she hits the road again to tour.
We’re so excited for Maren and Ryan! These first-time parents seem like they’ve got everything put together and ready for their baby boy. We can’t wait for more updates about Hayes Andrew and we’ll be sure to share any news that comes our way.
