Max Greenfield Updates His Fans on How Homeschooling His Daughter’s Going: Spoiler Alert, It’s Not Going Well

Regardless of who you are or where you are in the world, if you are a parent of school-aged children, you are struggling through your newest role right now, teacher. And parents who happen to be celebrities, like Max Greenfield, are no different.

Actor Max Greenfield, who is best known for his role as Schmidt in New Girl, is in the same boat. However, he has done as all the great service of documenting some of his moments as father and teacher and shares those particular moments on his Instagram page for his fans to enjoy.

Greenfield’s first post came about three weeks ago. Along with the photo of him and his daughter working at a desk, he captioned the image saying, “Good help us all.”

Roughly a week later, he shared a video of himself participating in that day’s reading lesson. It’s unclear exactly what the lesson was, but the story seemed to capture everyone’s attention.

However, just when the father-daughter duo seemed to be getting into the swing of things, Greenfield discovered this message Lilly sent to her teacher. As the father wrote along with the screenshot of the comment, “Just in case you were wondering what bottom looks like.”

And it only continued going downhill from there. At one point, Greenfield’s wife even worried that maybe it was in their daughter’s best interest that she take over. “Max!!!!!!!!! What the?” Tess wrote. “Is it time for me to take over?”

Now, like so many other parents, Greenfield has discovered a newfound respect for “the real” teachers, who have dedicated their livelihoods to teaching the world’s youth. And eventually, things just began to unravel even more.

At one point the lesson turned into Greenfield doing his best to describe what Netflix’s “Tiger King” is to Lilly.

And music class didn’t go so well either.

Not even the lesson in “fostering independence and good decision making” went well for Greenfield.

In the end, all Greenfield, and every other parent in the world going through this, can do is the best they can. And if their best just isn’t good enough, at least you’re making important memories with your children you would never have had otherwise.
