Meghan McCain and Ben Domenech Share First Photos of Newborn Baby Girl, Clover Jade

Meghan McCain and Ben Domenech are officially parents of two after announcing the birth of their second daughter, Clover Jade McCain Domenech. Both the mother and daughter are healthy, while the father and older sister are ecstatic to have a newborn in the house. One can say this is a happy family!

McCain, the daughter of late Senator John McCain, is a former host of The View and a current columnist for DailyMail.com. She got engaged to her husband in June 2017 and the couple didn’t hesitate before getting married in November 2017 – nine months before her father died of a heart attack in August 2018.

The couple had their first daughter, Liberty, in 2020 after suffering a miscarriage the year before. The announcement for her second daughter came in September 2022, just as the family was celebrating Liberty’s second birthday. Now, four months later, the then-family of three is officially a family of four.

Meghan McCain confirmed the birth of her newest daughter on Instagram on Saturday, two days after Clover Jade was born. She shared four photos featuring the family – including Meghan, her hubby, her oldest daughter, her newest daughter, and her mother, Cindy McCain (the widow of John McCain).

“We are overjoyed to welcome our new daughter Clover Jade McCain Domenech on Thursday morning. Thank you all for the well wishes – we are all blissed out happy, healthy, and exhausted! ♥️” she wrote in the Insta caption. In one of the photos, Clover is being held by Ben with Liberty and Meghan by his side.

In addition to the caption, McCain shared a powerful quote with all the women out there. “Here’s to strong women. May we know them. May we be them. May we raise them,” she wrote. She previously described motherhood as ‘euphoria’ in a 2020 Instagram post shortly after giving birth to her first daughter, Liberty.

Speaking to DailyMail.com, Ben Domenech expressed his appreciation for his wife. “Meghan’s strength and love for our daughters is boundless. I feel so blessed that she and Clover are both doing well and I cannot wait for our entire family to meet our baby girl,” he said – a sentiment he shares with his wife.

Meghan McCain Has Message for Her Fellow ‘Nepo Babies’

Meghan McCain has been open about her thoughts around the whole ‘nepotism’ debate in recent years – nepotism is defined as ‘the practice among those with power or influence of favoring relatives, friends, or associates, especially by giving them jobs.’ It’s something her daughters might be subject to as they age.

As 2022 came to an end, McCain took to her Instagram Story to share her most recent thoughts. “To my fellow ‘Nepo babies’—just acknowledge your privilege, the opportunities your last name has gotten you, and move on,” she wrote. Nepotism continues to be a hot topic as many celebrities open up about it.

“At some point talent and grit comes into play but let’s stop acting like this is in any way a rational burden that people know who [our] parents are—you sound like a**holes,” she concluded. It’s a similar sentiment shared by celebs like Maude Apatow, Lottie Moss, Kate Hudson, Goldie Hawn, and so much more.
