On her podcast, “Citizen McCain” Meghan McCain is revealing that she’s been offered a spot on the “Dancing With the Stars” roster at least three times.
But every time she’s been offered a spot, McCain has declined the offer and she’s sharing why.
“I’ve been asked to do ‘Dancing With the Stars’ three times,” McCain shared, “and I said no each time, because I just don’t want to publicly humiliate myself.”
“I’m a terrible dancer,” McCain offers, “and I don’t do reality TV.
The talk show host also admitted her future aspirations have also stopped her from entering the world of reality television. “I do not do reality TV because there’s still a tiny little window in my life that I want to run for office at some point,” McCain said.
“And you can’t do both. You just can’t. It’s just not serious,” she continued. “Come to me if I’m starving in the street and I’ve had some financial issues, but, I’m fine.”
McCain added that “the amount of reality TV I’ve been asked to do would blow your mind.” And she doesn’t quite understand why she’s on so many casting directors’ radars.
“I’m always like, ‘What about my personality says I’d be good on these kinds of platforms?’ I’m pretty shy in person. I’d be awful,” McCain said candidly.
But despite being steadfast in her decision not to do reality TV, McCain admits the payday is nothing to scoff at.
Admitting she’d likely “wouldn’t have to work for a year,” McCain revealed her friend Clay Aiken allegedly received a large salary after being a contestant on “The Masked Singer.”
“I’m not going to say how much [it pays] because I don’t have his permission, but he did The Masked Singer. Everybody should want to get on The Masked Singer,” she said. “The Masked Singer is a paycheck.”
