Donald Trump continues to face a possible indictment over his hush money payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels, but Melania Trump doesn’t want to hear anything about it. Instead, she’s choosing to focus on herself, her son Barron, her family, and her close friends – according to a source closer to her.
Melania and Donald are still married and still live together at their Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida, but they apparently live in separate quarters of the home and don’t spend a whole lot of time together. They join each other for dinner and other events at the estate, but it doesn’t happen often.
She does very well with all of her socializing duties. They still see friends for dinner at the club, but live separately and do what they want on their own. They don’t spend that much time together,” a source close to the situation told PEOPLE. Instead, Melania spends most of her time with her parents and son.

The source went on to admit that Melania Trump is ‘leading her own life’ and chooses to surround herself with those who ‘never talk about reality, or bad things about her husband.’ She’s also ‘angry’ at her husband and has felt that way since 2018, when the alleged hush money payment hit public airways.
The allegations state that Donald Trump had an extramarital affair with Stormy Daniels in 2006, several months after Melania gave birth to their son, Barron Trump. In 2016, ahead of the Presidential election, he allegedly authorized a $130,000 payment to Daniels to remain quiet about their rumored affair.
When the media learned of the ‘hush money payment,’ both Trump and his lawyer, Michael Cohen, denied the rumors. Cohen eventually confessed to the payment being made as he sought reimbursement from Trump – the payment was allegedly made by Cohen, who expected to be reimbursed by Trump.
Meanwhile, Melania has no interest in talking about the hush money payment. “She is aware of who her husband is and keeps her life upbeat with her own family and a few close friends,” the source said – adding she ‘wants to ignore it and hopes it will pass, but she doesn’t sympathize with Donald’s plight.
Melania Trump and Donald Trump Celebrate Son’s 17th Birthday
Amid all the controversy, drama, speculation, and possibility of an indictment and subsequent arrest, the Trump family recently celebrated their son’s 17th birthday on Monday. Barron Trump was born on March 20, 2006, roughly 14 months after Donald Trump and Melania Trump tied the knot in January 2005.
“Barron is a sweet boy who has a loving family around him. He is older now and handsome. His mom is protective of him but he is free around Mar-a-Lago. They are low-key with their socializing,” the source continued to tell PEOPLE, adding that Melania and Doanld ‘would not skip his birthday over legal issues.’
With that said, the possibility of an arrest continues to loom over the family – so much that Donald Trump predicted that he would be arrested as early as March 21 – the day after his son’s birthday. While that didn’t happen, Trump confirmed that he will follow procedure and surrender to charges if that day comes.
