Michigan Mom Arrested on Abuse Charges After Allegedly Beating Her Children Out of Their Home to Throw a Party

A Roscommon County, Michigan Mom has been arrested after she allegedly kicked her teenage kids, both under the age of 16, from their home and assaulted them as they were leaving. Police claim she forced the kids to leave the home so she could throw a party.

Amber Maldonado, 34, is now in the custody of the Michigan State Police.

Maldonado’s Son Called 911 and Claimed That His Mother Had Abused Him.

A call came into 911 at 3:40 AM on Sunday, according to a tweet from Michigan State Police, CafeMom reports. “A child had called 911 and alleged he was assaulted by his mother,” authorities said in a press release.

“Troopers arrived at the residence and were met on the front porch by the victim,” the release continues.

With nowhere to go in the middle of the night, the two children returned home, and then, “they got into an argument and she assaulted him and his sister.”

Maldonado allegedly slapped and hit her son, Michigan Live reports. His sister intervened on her brother’s behalf when she too was also assaulted by her mother.

Later, Maldonado confirmed to authorities that when her children came home they got into a disagreement. Police said she appeared to be intoxicated when she spoke to them.

Richfield Township EMS arrived and treated one of the two children at the scene, CafeMom reports.

The kids were then turned over to their father. After speaking with police, Maldonado was arrested and taken into custody at the Roscommon County Jail. The mom was brought to court on April 19 and charged with two counts of third-degree child abuse.

A judge set Maldonado’s bond at $100,000. She will return to court on May 10 to presumable enter a plea.
