7 Nail Art Looks We’d Try If We Weren’t Moms

As moms, we would love to fit in some extra self-care, but sometimes it just doesn’t seem possible. Example: Nail art. When it comes to getting your nails done, it makes sense that many moms choose simple nail lengths, colors, and designs so they don’t get damaged during playtime and when you’re trying to keep the house clean.

Of course, there are many beautiful and detailed nail art designed to fawn over, especially as we’re heading into the summer months. We’ve chosen some of our favorite designs that we love, but we worry we’d chip them as soon as we got home.

Summer Sorbet Nails

Nothing says summer like these beautiful sorbet-colored nails. The beautiful combination of colors put us in a perfectly beachy mood. Unfortunately, we’re more likely to be dealing with actual sorbet stains on our clothing than sorbet-colored nails.

Floral Fingers

This intricate design is a stunning mix of flowers, perfect to pair with breezy summer dresses. Imagine the work that goes into such a design. And then imagine how quickly that work would be destroyed by our typical daily lives as moms.

Turning Lemons into Lemonade

This adorable nail art combines two of our favorite citrus — lemon and clementine. It would be the perfect nail art to show off during a summer picnic. We might actually try this nail look. The kids would think it’s cute.

Update on a Classic

These beautiful nails combine a classic color palette with clean silver and black lines – perfect for any time of year. Unless you’re a mom. In which case these just seem a little formal for digging a soggy mess out of the clogged garbage disposal.

Vacation Nails

These nails are perfect for the next time you’re headed out on the boat or to the beach. If you aren’t a mom. If you are a mom… those nautical decorations may be beautiful, but they’re also a choking hazard.

Seeing Red

This simple yet beautiful design is beautiful and can be worn any time of year. We love the combo of the bold red, pink, and neutral shade. This is another one we might actually be open to trying, if only we could find the time to make it happen…

Step Up Your Game

Sometimes you need a touch of bling and this beautiful, classy design fits the bill perfectly. In our dreams, anyway. Imagine handling your kids with those claws. They might scare your little ones into compliance, but none of us want to be known as a Monster Mom. Pretty, though!

It’s fair to say that many of the above nail designs aren’t practical in the day-to-day life of a busy mom. At the very least, though, you can take inspiration from the above nail art the next time you want to branch out.
