The father of Nicki Minaj, Robert Maraj, 64, died last Saturday after being struck in a tragic hit-and-run in Mineloa, New York.
The death has been confirmed by the Nassau County Police Department.
Maraj, who lived in Mineola, was struck while walking around 6 p.m — he was then taken to the hospital where he eventually passed away.
The driver of the vehicle reportedly fled the scene “without a meaningful description from witnesses.”
Minaj, who was born Onika Tanya Maraj, has not publicly address his death.

Previously, the singer has described Maraj as violent towards her mother, once revealing in a 2010 interview how her father once set fire to their home with her mother inside.
“I remember when my mother would let my father be violent with her and she always brings up this story about when I was a little girl and I would stand in front of my mother,” the singer said, demonstrating how she put her arms out for protection, in her 2018 documentary Queen.
“That’s why maybe some people would describe me as abrasive or bitchy or whatever because I vowed from that age no man would ever abuse me, call me out my name, treat me like that. Then all of a sudden, that was my life.”

Minaj shared a quick snapshot of her baby’s foot back in October after she gave birth on Sept. 30, and most recently, posted six sweet photos of her now 3-month-old son on her Instagram on Jan. 2.
In the photo series, Minaj’s little boy sported designer outfits, including one particular outfit with a chain and a diamond nameplate that says, “Papa Bear.”
“#PapaBear thank you so very much for choosing me to be your mama,” Minaj captioned the photos shared on Instagram. “Wishing you guys a happy & prosperous New Year. Thank you for your love & support throughout this journey. It’s meant so much to me.”
