Nicki Minaj’s Mom Says Rapper’s Biological Clock Is Ticking and That She Wants Grandkids as Pregnancy Rumors Swirl

Just several days after Nicki Minaj revealed she got married, her mom went on record saying she wants grandkids soon because her daughter’s biological clock is ticking.

On September 5, one of the most popular female rappers of this generation, Nicki Minaj, took to Twitter to announce her retirement. She explained that her decision to enter retirement was so that she could start a family.

She wrote in the since-deleted tweet, per CBS News, “I’ve decided to retire & have my family. I know you guys are happy now. To my fans, keep reppin’ me, do it til da death of me, X in the box- cuz ain’t nobody checkin’ me. Love you for LIFE.”

Just one day later, on September 6, the rapper took to Twitter again to apologize for the abrupt tweet announcing her retirement and promised to elaborate more on her popular Queen Radio show.

Those tweets came several weeks before Minaj revealed that she and her now-husband, Kenneth Petty, have officially become husband and wife. As People reports, Minaj announced that she and Petty officially wed on October 21.

The rapper told her radio audience in August, roughly a month before announcing that she was retiring, that she didn’t want a big wedding right now because she is busy working on her new album. “I have to work on my album and I have a lot to focus on that I don’t want to do the big wedding now. We’ll do the big wedding later.”

She took to Instagram to announce the big news, writing out her full legal name, “Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty 10•21•19.” And getting married, it seems, is exactly what her mother wanted. The want-to-be grandmother admitted she’s ecstatic that Minaj is now a wife, after going on record to say her daughter’s biological clock is ticking.

In an interview with The Shade Room, Carol Maraj said she’s anxiously awaiting the day her 36-year-old daughter tells her she’s pregnant. “I’m very happy that she got married. Her biological clock is ticking and it’s about time she got married and gave me some grandchildren. So I’m very happy.”

Minaj hasn’t responded publicly to her mom’s statement, despite being very active on both Twitter and Instagram over the last couple of days. However, the rumor mill has been swirling with reports that the rapper is, in fact, pregnant. Those rumors also have yet to be confirmed or denied.

And given that Minaj has recently rarely been seen in public, it would be difficult to know if she and Petty are expecting their first child together unless the rapper herself announced it. However, the most recent rumors are due to a now-deleted tweet shared by Minaj on October 30.

The tweet read, “Expecting a”… and of course, many of her fans assumed that was her way of announcing she’s pregnant.

So before any of her fans get too excited about what they read on the internet, it’s probably best to wait until you hear ALL OF it straight from Minaj or Petty’s mouths.
